Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the ILYM app (“I love you more”, “ILYM”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects the personal data of its users (“you”). It applies to the ILYM iOS app and the ilym.app website. By using ILYM you agree to this Policy.

Summary

• ILYM is a private space for two. Everything you create in your couple is visible only to you and your partner.
• We don’t show ads, don’t track you across other apps or websites, and don’t sell personal data.
• You can delete your account at any time right in the app, together with all of the couple’s data.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your account identifier, email address and, if you allow it, your name. Sign in with Apple lets you hide your real email.
• Profile. Your name, gender (it sets your color in the app and some challenges) and, optionally, an avatar.
• Couple. The couple’s name, the date your relationship started, who is in the couple.
• Your content. Memory photos, notes, private answers, wishlists, timeline events, your own date and surprise ideas.
• AI helper conversation. The text you write to the date-idea helper.
• Support requests. Messages you send from the app (with the app version, iOS version and device model) and emails to support@ilym.app.

Information collected when you use ILYM

• Photo location. Where a photo was taken — only if you allow location access or the photo from your library already contains it.
• Push notification token and app language — to send you notifications in the language you chose.
• Server logs: IP address, time and type of request — to protect the service and fix problems.

We don’t collect your contacts, browsing history, advertising identifiers or data about other apps. We don’t use analytics or third-party trackers.

2. How we use your information

• creating your account, signing you in and pairing two partners;
• storing and showing your shared content, timeline and map of places;
• notifying you about your partner’s actions (a surprise, an answer, a new memory) and reminding you when you haven’t done anything together for a while;
• AI helper suggestions;
• answering support requests, protecting the service from abuse and fixing problems.

3. Legal bases (users in the EU/EEA and UK)

• Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — providing ILYM’s features under the Terms of Use.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — camera, photos, location and notification access. You can withdraw it in iOS Settings.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — service security, server logs, backups.

4. Who can see your information

Your partner. Couple content is visible only to the two of you. Surprises and private answers stay hidden from your partner until they are revealed. ILYM has no public feed and no contact with strangers.

Service providers that process data on our behalf and only to run ILYM:

• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (EU, Frankfurt) — server, database, photo storage and encrypted backups;
• Google — Sign in with Google; the Gemini API generates date ideas and receives only the text of your helper conversation, without your name, email or photos;
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and push notification delivery (APNs);
• Expo (650 Industries, Inc., USA) — push notification delivery service: receives the device token and the notification text;
• Cloudflare — website DNS and forwarding of emails sent to our support address;
• Telegram — a private bot delivers the messages you send to support from the app to us, with your email so we can reply.

Instagram receives an image only when you tap “Share to Stories” yourself — it is handed over on your device.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users. We don’t sell personal data or share it for advertising.

5. International transfers

Your core data is stored in the EU. Some providers (Google, Apple, Expo, Cloudflare, Telegram) may process data in the United States and other countries. These transfers are protected by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

6. How long we keep your information

• Account and couple data — as long as your account exists.
• Unfinished memory drafts are deleted automatically: abandoned ones the next day, untouched ones after 60 days.
• Records of sent notifications — 30 days.
• Support requests — while your account exists; we delete the copies in Telegram and email on request.
• Your AI helper conversation is stored only on your device; on the server we only count requests for the daily limit.
• After you delete your account, data is deleted immediately and from backups within 30 days.

7. Security

Data is transferred only over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access is restricted by database-level rules: each person sees only their own couple. Backups are encrypted. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

• access your data and get a copy of it;
• correct inaccurate data;
• delete your data;
• restrict or object to processing;
• receive your data in a machine-readable format (portability);
• withdraw your consent at any time;
• lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country.

To exercise these rights, email support@ilym.app. We reply within 30 days.

Deleting your account: the gear in the app → “Delete account”. The couple and all shared content are deleted with it — for both partners; if you signed in with Apple, we also revoke ILYM’s access to your Apple ID.

9. Device permissions

Camera, photos, location and notifications are requested only when a feature needs them. ILYM works without them, just without that feature. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.

10. Children

ILYM is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required by law in your country). We don’t knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. The date of the last update is shown at the top. We’ll announce significant changes in the app or on this page.
